Abstract

In order to study the effects of planting time and plant density on growth trends and flower yield of chamomile plants (Matricaria chamomil L), a field experiment was conducted at the research filed of ferdowsi university in shirvan. A split block desiyn was used with two factors. Factor A was time of planting (5th october and 10th April) and factor B was plant space within row (10, 20 and 30 cm)each in 4 replications. Results showed a significant difference between two times of planting so that plant sowed in october significantly produced higher number of flowers per plant and consequently higher flower yield. Duration of flowering was much longer when plants sowed in october. There was no difference between 10 and 20 cm plant space within the row.
