Abstract

The key to designing molecular building blocks understands the nature of the intermolecular interaction, which assembles the building blocks and control of the weak interactions in the crystal packing. The role of CH/π interaction, which is classified as a weak hydrogen bond, in determining the crystal packing1, molecular assemblies2, and structure of large biological systems3 has been specified. Although single crystal diffraction is undoubtedly the most powerful tool for the molecular structure determination, a limitation of this technique is the requirement of single crystal sample with appropriate size and quality. Since many compounds cannot be prepared in the form of single crystals suitable for single crystal X-ray diffraction studies, use of powder diffraction data represents the only approach towards a structure determination of such compounds.
