Abstract

This paper presents an X-band cavity filter based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. It consists of four cross coupled cavities working at 9.74 GHz. Neural network optimization procedure is applied to optimize two parameters of the proposed filter. Results show that for optimum values of the filter parameters, return loss and insertion loss are 22 dB and 1.4 dB respectively in pass band. The proposed filter is fabricated and its S-parameters are measured. Good agreement between simulation and measured results are obtained.
