چکیده

In this study, nickel ferrite thin films were prepared on glass substrate by spray pyrolysis at 400 °C. The structural and magnetic properties of the samples were studied after calcination at argon, pure oxygen and air atmosphere. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) show that nickel ferrite phase is formed in all samples and crystalline size for the samples at atmospheres of oxygen, argon and air, is 10.39, 11.23 and 13.64 nm respectively. The magnetic properties of the samples were obtained using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The magnetic behavior of the sample produced at argon atmosphere, respect to the one at air shows 8.23 (2.12) percent increase of Ms in the case of parallel (vertical) field and 4.90 (1.15) percent reduction of Hc. The atmosphere of pure oxygen rather than air, showed 9.38 (6.38) percent the saturation magnetization and lower 8.12 (4.63) percent coercivity of the sample in the parallel (vertical) field. Thus, the use of pure oxygen atmosphere in the final stage of synthesis, thin films softens the magnetic behavior in the vertical and parallel magnetic field. Using argon atmosphere also soften the magnetic behavior of thin films in both directions, although its value is less than that of pure oxygen atmosphere.
