Abstract
In a survey conducted on identification of weed biological control agents of Iran during the years 2010 to 2012, the infested fruits of E. angustifolia to moth larvae were collected from the cities located in North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, East Azerbaijan, west Azerbaijan and Kurdistan provinces. The larvae (fig. 1B) were reared in growth chamber until adult moths emerged. The moth was identified as Anarsia (Ananarsia) eleagnella Kuznetsov, 1957 (Lep.: Gelechiidae), and confirmed by Sergei Yu. Sinev at Russian Academy of Sciences, Zoological Institute RAS. This species belongs to the genus Ananarsia, the trip Ananarsiini and the subfamily Dichomeridinae.
