Abstract

In this paper, a novel technique for bandwidth enhancement of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) cavity-backed slot antenna excited by an inset feed line is presented. Bandwidth improvement is obtained by exciting higher order modes of the square SIW cavity. The proposed antenna is simulated using Ansoft HFSS. The results show that a linearly polarized proposed is obtained which provides fractional impedeance bandwidth of 14% for S11<-10 dB.
