Abstract
The present paper is devoted to the evaporation of water into the moving air currents in indoor swimming pools. A series of experimental measurements have been undertaken in a laboratory-made swimming pool model to study the influences of different parameters on the evaporation rate from free water surfaces as well as wetted surfaces. Based on experimental measurements, a new correlation has been attained for the water evaporation rate into the moving air. The comparison between water evaporation rates from free water surface and from wetted surface reveals that for low air velocities, evaporation rate from wetted surface is higher than that of free water surface. However, a reversed trend is observed for high air velocities.
