Abstract

Spawn quality plays important role in successful production of medicinal mushrooms. In this study, first, to determine the optimum temperature for growth of G. lucidum mycelia, 4 basal media, including seeds of wheat, barley, millet and Russians tree wood chip were studied separately at two temperatures of 25±1˚c and 29±1˚c. In the second stage of spawn production, in order to achieve suitable for the mycelia growth, barley, wheat and millet seeds were mixed with different ratios of weat bran (10, 20 and 30% dry weight), Russians wood chips (20, 30, 50 and 60% dry weight) and millet peel (20, 40 and 60% dry weight). In the first Experiment, higher mycelia growth rate (8.92 mm/day) was obtained when used wheat seed in the temperature of 29±1˚c. In the second experiment, the results showed that higher mycelia growth rate for each seeds of wheat and barley were abtained by 10% wheat bran treatment (9.655 mm/day and 9.269 mm/day respectively) and for millet seed, by 20% Russian wood chip treatment. Finaly, wheat seed mixed with 10% wheat bran treatment, was introduced as best medium for spawn production of G. lucidum.
