As you now, the heat pipe exchangers are modern industrial equipments that uses for waste heat recovery. These units usually are made of two hot and cold fluid channels with a cylindrical pipe net that is situated on the fluids route. There is amount of liquid in pipes that uses for heat transfer between channels by its latent heat. One of important factors for optimization of these units is pipes layout. In this study, we have modeled an experimental unit including 36 pipes by CFD approach. This study main object is investigation of Heat pipes layout effect (triangular pith or square pith) on turbulence and heat transfer coefficient. In this modeling, motion equation, energy equation, kinetic energy equation (K) and energy dissipation (e ) are solved in mathematical cells (finite value) instantaneously. As is apparent from modeling results, when the triangular pith has been used, if St / Sl (distance of two perpendicular pipes to flow line / distance of two parallel pipes to flow line) is less than one, rate of Heat transfer is greater than square type and this effect will accelerate by increase of Reynolds number.
