Abstract
It has been a long time since policy makers and economic planners have noticed the relationship between economic growth and income distribution. The main purpose of this study is to examine the quality of interaction of income distribution and economic growth based on the Granger causality test and the Johansen - Juselius convergence test. This study by examining the way of interaction of these two variables indicates that Kuznets hypothesis is not true in the period 1971-2007 in Iran and there is a positive long-term convergence relationship between economic growth and the income inequality distribution indicator.
