Abstract

Isolation of vibration in engine components has always been one of the design issues in transportation vehicles especially in automotive industry with the aim of improving the driving quality and increasing the life time of engine components. The focus on improving the functional properties of automobiles in the past years has heightened the significance of engine vibrations. The present study introduces a new type of electromagnetic active multi-chambers engine mount that has been produced as a result of introducing changes in the structure of the earlier engine mounts with the purpose of resolving the cooling issue. Then, using geometric modeling and numerical analysis, the volume stiffness and compliance coefficients are extracted. To validate the proposed approach, the presented procedure is implemented on the engine mount or other existing empirical data and after extracting data derived from similar studies, the accuracy of analysis on the newly developed engine mount is confirmed.
