By start of cold season, consumption of natural gas significantly grows in home and trade sections, and “Iran National Gas Co.” as supplier of gas in country, tries to balance production and consumption in this season. Many times, supplying necessary gas for home and trade sections encounter with problems and power plants use liquid fuels during cold season. Consumption of liquid fuel in country neither is economical nor includes environment problems and pollution. Thus, consumption of natural gas and reserving it in summer for winter would follow useful results either for consumers or producers of gas and electricity in country. Construction of Mini LNG units and Storage of natural gas in hot season in the form of LNG is one of the methods to remove this problem. Economic study of construction of Mini LNG units for power plants and balancing their consumption in winter by excess natural gas in 8 warm months of year show that this action is not economically justifiable in combined cycle power plants. However, this plan is not economically justifiable in steam plants regarding the current prices of fuel oil.
