Abstract

There is an increasing popularity of operational modal analysis (OMA) techniques in many fields of study. In spite of the extensive researches about OMA, There is a need for more detailed and illustrative overview of OMA in different aspects due to the rapid development of this discipline. This review aims to report relevant essential information about OMA and present its latest development and introduce several significant aspects of OMA. An attempt has been made to introduce the classification of OMA techniques and the methods of system modal parameters estimation. Moreover, the required experimantal instrumentaion and considerations for getting high quality results and the application of OMA in civil engineering structures are presented. To provide this paper, large number of literatures and texts were studied and reviewed to greatly help researchers getting introduced to the subject of OMA in different theoretical and practical aspects.
