Abstract
The aimofthisstudywastomeasurethemechanical propertiesandfatiguebehavior of threecontemporaryuseddentalceramics,zirconiaCercons (ZC),lithiumdisilicatee.maxs CAD (LD),andpolymer-infiltratedceramicEnamics (PIC). Methods: FlexuralstrengthofeachCAD/CAMceramicwasmeasuredbythreepoint bending(n¼15) followedbyWeibullanalysis.Elasticmoduluswascalculatedfromthe load–displacementcurve.Forcyclicfatigueloading,sinusoidalloadingwithafrequency of 8Hzwithminimumload3Nwereappliedtotheseceramics(n¼24)usingthreepoint bendingfrom103 to 106 cycles. Fatiguelimitsoftheseceramicswerepredictedwith S–N fatiguediagram.FracturetoughnessandVickershardnessoftheceramicswere measuredrespectivelybysingleedgeV-notchbeam(SEVNB)andmicroindentation (Hv 0.2)methods.Chemicalcompositionsofthematerials'surfaceswereanalyzedby EDS, andmicrostructuralanalysiswasconductedonthefracturesurfacesbySEM.One- wayANOVAwasperformedandthelevelofsignificancewassetat0.05toanalyzethe numericalresults.
