Abstract
A practical, simple and efficient method for the synthesis of thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine-fused spirooxindoles by a three-component reaction of isatins, malononitrile and 2-amino-2-thiazoline in the presence of CuI as catalyst in ethylene glycol is reported.
