Abstract

thermal properties along their thickness and this gradual change enable them to be effective in different purpose. In this paper, it is tried to illustrate the results of buckling resistant in cylindrical shells affected by imposing openings in different locations by performed analysis with ANSYS. The cylindrical shell is made of a composite of silicon nitride and stainless steel which the mechanical properties change along the material thickness in each point. The gradual change of properties in the mentioned cylinders is based on power distribution equation. In order to modeling and analyze purpose, the multi-layer method is considered whereas these shells were modelled in multi-layer form and then, the buckling analysis was performed by finite element method. So, the minimum number of layers to reach the best answers was obtained. In following, effect of opening with various dimensional ratios on buckling resistance of these shells was observed. Furthermore, the optimal location of openings to have the maximum resistance was determined.
