Abstract

In this study, a nonlinear electromechanical vibration suppressor and energy harvester are investigated. In doing so, by changing support of cantilever beam, which is used as the dynamic vibration absorber, the double stiffness system is introduced. To study the electromechanical behavior, a theoretical model of this system is developed and validated by experimental results. Effects of changing the main parameters of the presented system, such as the tip mass, the load resistance and variable length of the beam are studied on the electromechanical behavior of the system. Using the so-called Perfection Rate (PR) parameter, both of the electrical and mechanical behaviors of the presented systems are summarized in a parameter. Finally, it is shown the double stiffness system can be a better energy harvester and vibration suppressor in comparison with the conventional dynamic vibration absorber.
