Introduction: brain imaging tools show abnormalities in fronto-limbic structure and function in the brain of people with borderline personality disorder. Objective: A narrative review was conducted in order to understand the neural basis in the brain of people with borderline personality disorder. Method: Keywords were searched in reliable scientific databases such as (Google Scholar), (Pub Med), (Research Gate), (Nature) and (Nih) and 40 studies were selected with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Result: From these articles, the text of 18 studies was screened by theevaluators. Discussion and conclusion: Frontolimbic structural and functional disorders are evident in relation to the clinical symptoms related to borderline personality disorder.
