Abstract

This paper examines collisional and radiative energy loss of heavy quarks in quark–gluon plasma and presents a comparative analysis of three different methods for energy dissipation. The study focuses on calculation of the nuclear modification factor (RAA) of charm quarks in Pb–Pb collisions at √SN N 5.02 TeV. All three methods are examined using the same numerical evolution based on the well-known Fokker–Planck equation by considering critical phenomena like a non-equilibrium state at the onset of heavy ion collisions. The outcomes of each approach are compared with the latest data from ALICE and ATLAS experiments spanning from 2018 to 2022. This study aims to compare the degree of agreement between each approach and recently obtained experimental data, in the intermediate and high PT regions
