Abstract

Calling for a new conception of culture, the author argues that the existing cultural frameworks in Translation Studies are not of much use when it comes to the study of video games as products laden with culture-specificity. The book consists of six chapters. Each chapter builds logically upon the previous one to contribute to a smooth and rational line of argument development. The first two chapters provide the necessary theoretical background that serve, primarily, to highlight the existing research gaps in video games localization research. Chapters three to five are focused on introducing the methodology of the research and the analysis of data included in the corpus.
