Abstract
Automatic modulation type identification (AMTI) has seen increasing demand for both military and civilian, nowadays. This paper presents a new technique for identification of digital modulation. In this technique wavelet packet analysis is used to extract the prominent characteristics of received signal. It utilizes the support vector machine as the classifier to identify the type of modulation. This technique is used to identification of the considered modulations PSK2 and PSK4. Simulation results show that this new technique has high accuracy even in low levels of signal to noise ratios.
