Abstract

The aim of this study is studying relation among perceptions of class activities and achievement goals. One of the most important variables that relate to achievement goals is perception of class activities. For studying relation among these perceptions and goals, we selected a sample of Iranian students (571) and administrated Students Achievement Goal Orientations (Midgley, et al., 1998), and Students’ Perceptions of Classroom Activities (Gentry, et al., 2002) scales. Result of Pearson correlations show that student perceptions of classroom activities components (interest, choice, challenge and joint) and goal orientations components (mastery, approach performance and avoidance performance) are correlated 2 by 2 (p< .05). Results of multiple regressions show that all dependent variables (approach, mastery, and avoiding) are predicted by predictors (joint, choice, interest and challenge), separately. Keywords: achievement goals, perception of class activities and Iranian.
