Abstract:

Solid state perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are promising photovoltaic devices originated from the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). There are three outstanding issues which are important in designing the efficient PSC devices. One of the most interesting issues is related to the noteworthy growth of the efficiency of the PSCs a 3.8% in 2009 and 38% in 2017. The other issue returns to perovskites’s applications in different technologies such as transistors, light emitting diodes and solar cells. The last issue is related to their unique characteristics such as superior opto-electronic properties, long carrier life-time, direct band gap, low cost, high carrier mobility. Despite these properties, there are some serious disadvantages including the presence of toxic lead element in the perovskite structure and a poor stability upon long-term exposure to the ambient atmosphere ].
