Abstract
The boundary shear stress is one of the most important parameters both for practical developments and for fundamental studies in open channel hydraulics and fluid mechanics. The authors have presented a fairly reliable method to assess the boundary shear stress distribution in prismatic channels. However, the study did not explain the physics on why the MPM is successful to assess the boundary shear stress distribution.
