Abstract
We describe a highly regioselective ring opening of epoxides with aromatic amines in the presence of a catalytic amount of Zn(OAc)2 and 1,7-bis(2-benzoic acid)- 1,4,7-trioxaheptane under microwave irradiation. The yields of the amino alcohols are mostly good and the recovered catalyst could be reused several times.
