Abstract
A mild and ef fi cient method has been de vel oped for the se lec tive deprotection of 1,1-diacetates of al de - hydes in ex cel lent yields by means of the P2O5/SiO2 re agent. Ad van tages of this method are the use of in ex - pen sive and se lec tive re agent, with high yields in sim ple op er a tion, and short re ac tion time un der sol vent-free con di tions.
