Abstract
A facile and efficient method for the preparation of amides from ketones by the Schmidt reaction is described for the first time using P2O5/SiO2 and sodium azide under solvent-free microwave irradiation. Advantages of this procedure are selectivity, good yields, a simple operation, short reaction time, and solvent-free conditions.
