In this paper, we give a modified Electromagnetic Meta-Heuristic search method (MEM) for finding a global minimum of a nonlinear function with continuous variables. The proposed scheme can be used either as a stand-alone approach or as an accompanying procedure for other methods. The performance of MEM is reported through extensive numerical experiments on some well known functions. Comparing their performance with that of other meta-heuristics shows that MEM is promising in practice. Especially, MEM is shown to be very efficient and robust for large sclae problems.
