Abstract
In this paper, the behavior of perforated plate girders by nonlinear finite element analysis is represented. For this purpose, the powerful finite element code ANSYS is used to model the plate girders with web opening. First, analytical results are compared with available theories and then a parametric study with varying web slenderness, flange stiffness and opening size is performed. Finally, the effect of these parameters on buckling load and ultimate shear capacity of plate girders with web opening is investigated.
