Abstract

Abstract: Human brain organizes sensory stimulus by perception but sometimes perception is not correspond with the outside world and there are some type of errors in brain findings. One of the famous visual illusions is the Muller- Lyer Illusion in which the line with outward arrow ahead appears longer than the line with inward arrow ahead. The goal of this study is the comparison of the effect of experience and knowledge on visual illusions while the Muller- Lyer experiment is used. Results show that experience is one of the key factors to reduce visual illusions but the education and knowledge are more important and have significant effect on reducing the illusion.
