Abstract
A recent paper analyzed the magnitudes of (n,p) and (n,a) cross sections based on the parameter S=(N-Z)/A. Although this parameter provides a means of fitting a number of such cross sections at 14 MeV, there are some cross sections that deviate substantially from the fit. We examine sraightforward extensions of the model to see if the fit can be improved.
