Elevated levels of IGF-IR have been observed in some human tumors. It has been shown that prostate cancer cells significantly express IGF-IR. In this study, we have stably transfected DU145 human prostate cancer cells with an IGF-IR antisense expression construct (pIGF-IRAS) and evaluated the protein level of IGF-IR in the transfected DU145 cells.
