Abstract

]It has proven that most members of the IGF axis are interesting targets in gene therapy of cancers and the growth of some tumors could be inhibited by an antisense strategy against the IGF system. It has been shown that the changes in the IGF axis are accomplished with prostate cancer development and progression and the prostate cancer cells significantly express the IGF-I. In the present study, DU145 human prostate cancer cells was transfected with a vector containing the IGF-IR antisense and the level of IGF-IR mRNA was analyzed by RT-PCR.
