Abstract

A system including an implantable integrated circuit (IC) for measuring the blood pressure of transgenic mice is implemented in 0.18 pm CMOS technology. The system specifications and circuit design challenges are summarized and discussed in this paper. The implant part of the system is to operate with a single miniature battery for more than two month, The measured data is transmitted wirelessly to a base station. The power consumption of the implantable system is 38 uW.
