Ecosystem management has become a keyword for describing new approaches to maintaining biodiversity in natural ecosystems and protected areas . Riverside areas are one of these ecosystems and because of their high biodiversity are focal points for research and management . In Falavarjan - Isfahan it seems that Zayanderood riverside has changed because of human activities such as over harvesting and riverside park creation as a beautiful landscape . In this reason we studied its plant species diversity . Raw data was collected at 68 1m2 quadrates . At each quadrate , species were counted , identified and recorded . Diversity was analyzed using the numerical and parametric diversity indices . The results of the study proved high species richness and evenness and a negative shift in dynamic of vegetation . Finally it is proposed that management actions such as prevent of overexploitation and consideration of coastal line distance for park creation is necessary for this ecosystem .
