Abstract Effects of Paclobutrazol on vegetative and generative growth of apricot Sedighi, A.; Davarynejad, G.H; Azizi, M; and M.J.Arvin1 In this research effect of 4 concentration (0, 1, 1.5 and 2 grams) of paclobutrazol at the time of bud differentiation during 2005-2006 on 35 years old apricot trees Lasjerdy cv. have investigated. Flowering time, yield, vegetative growth and morphological characteristics of fruits were recorded. According to the results, the beginning of flowering time was one or two days earlier than control. There were no significant differences in fruit length, volume and weight of fruits and seed length. Otherwise fruit width and seed in all treatments of Paclobutrazol indicate the reform of fruit to globular shape. Paclobutrazol caused a significant increased (about 2-3 time more than control) in fruit set. Also amount of vegetative growth decrease 40-50 percent in comparison with the control.
