Graphitization process in steels can be performing for wear resistance improvement. During this procedure cementite dissociated to free carbon (graphite) and ferrite and finally a ferritic matrix is produce-able. Although graphite gives good lubricant properties to steel parts, but softness of ferritic phase matrix tends for decreasing wear properties. By replacing the ferritic phase matrix to a harder phase such as martensite, we can improve the wear resistance in this material considerably. In this research requirement process for producing martensitic-graphitic structure in hypereutectoid steel has been considered. To achieve this propose at first graphitized structure with ferritic matrix has been austentised partially (partially graphite dissolution) and after appropriate quenching it has been tempered in a temperature range between 300ºC to 600ºC for two hours. Finally the influence of produced various microstructures by various tempering on hardness and wear resistance have been investigated.
