in this paper, a multi- objective model for simultaneous part sequencing and tool replacement schedule is presented and solved. the main objectives include determining optimal part sequence, tool assignment to machining process, tool replacement schedule, and number of tool copies for each tool type. these parameters are in such a way that the total production cost is minimized. the originality of this research includes using tool reliability instead of tool life and considering asymmetric set up times for tool and part scheduling. since the proposed model falls into combinatorial problems, a tabu search (TS) algorithm is used as the solution procedure. computational results show that the proposed solution technique has a good permormance in solving such problems.
