The impingement of vertical liquid jets on solid surfaces is seen in many different industrial processes such as cooling of the electronic equipments, cleaning of metal surfaces, inducing atomization, fuel injection in and atomization in spacecraft propulsion systems, etc. This process is usually accompanied by the occurrence of the very well-known fluid dynamics phenomenon, circular hydraulic jump (CHJ) that is numerically simulated in this paper by using the Volume-of-Fluid (VOF) method. In particular, the effect of microgravity, which is an important parameter in the design of the propulsion systems of spacecrafts traveling in space, on the jump formation and its radius is numerically studied here and the results are discussed. In addition, the atomization process on a rotating disk greatly depends on the hydraulic jump location and its other properties. The numerical results show that by reducing the gravity, the radius of the hydraulic jump increases and the jump becomes more gradual which agrees with the empirical observations.
