Abstract
EC maps of farm soil, contains useful information about changes in soil salinity, soil type and clay content, cation exchange capacity and soil moisture content. The conventional soil sampling to determining soils EC1 map is laborious and requires intensive laboratory analysis. Also, because of the distance between sampling points, the resultant map does not have enough details to use in precision farming. In this research, a system was built based on Wenner direct contact method with plate type probes to measure soil EC on the go. There were four coulter probes where the first and the fourth probes provide the electrical charge while the second and the third probes measure the apparent soil electrical conductivity (ECa). Soil samples were collected from farmlands around Mashhad city (Khorasan Razavi) of Iran. Each had five levels of salinity. Experiments were done with three replications. The Results compared with that of lab EC and analyzed with a powerful statistical software (SPSS17). The correlation factors(R square) of regression models were above 0.93 for all treatments
