Title : ( An Investigation into the Springback in Bending of Unsymmetrical Sheet Metal Laminates )

In this paper the springback behavior of two-ply Aluminum-Steel wide laminates is investigated. An elasto-plastic analysis based on deformation theory of plasticity and the von Mises yield criterion is developed and used to investigate springback in unsymmetrical sheet metal laminates subjected to bending. The springback phenomenon after unloading is predicted in various conditions. Then a Finite Elements simulation is set using the commercial software ANSYS 10 in order to compare analytical results with numerical ones. The solution is also used to assessing the effect of various parameters including bent curvature and thickness ratio of each layer. Obtained results show that the springback behavior of unsymmetrical sheet metal laminates is significantly affected by the mechanical properties of each layer, layer thickness ratio and bent radius.
