Title : ( Synthesis, characterization and crystal structures of mononuclear Zinc(II) dichloride complexes with 2,3,5,6-tetra(2-pyridyl)pyrazine )

Tppz (2,3,5,6-tetrakis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine) complexes [Zn(tppz)Cl2] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, cyclic voltammetry and electronic spectral studies. Solid state structures of complex have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The structural determination shows that the mononuclear Zn(II) complex, [Zn(tppz)Cl2], is a 1D coordination polymer. Also an ORTEP drawing of [Zn(tppz)Cl2] shows that the coordination geometry around the Zn(II) center is slightly distorted from regular square-based pyramidal. Crystal data for [ZnCl2(C24H16N6)]: Triclinic, , a = 10.171 (2) Å, b = 10.3550 (13) Å, c = 12.239 (2) Å, α = 64.839 (9)o, β = 85.736 (8)o, γ = 77.842 (10)o, V = 1140.3 (4) Å3, Z = 2.
