Abstract

A convenientmicrowavemethodinpreparationofzincoxidenanoparticles(ZnONPs) using anionicliquid,trihexyltetradecylphosphoniumbis{(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl}- imide, [P66614][NTf2], asagreensolventisdescribedinthispaper.Tothebestofour knowledge,thereisnoreportforsynthesizinganynanoparticleusingthisionicliquid. Trihexyltetradecylphosphoniumbis{(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl}-imidehaslowinterface tension andthusitcanenhancethenucleationrate,whichisfavorabletotheformation of smallerZnONPs.ThefabricatedZnONPswerecharacterizedbyX-raydiffraction (XRD),transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM),andUV-visspectroscopy.TheXRD patternrevealsthattheZnONPshavehexagonalwurtzitestructure.Thestrongintensity and narrowwidthofZnOdiffractionpeaksindicatethattheresultingnanoparticlesare ofhighcrystallinity.ThesynthesizedZnONPsshowdirectbandgapof3.43eV.TheUV–vis absorptionspectrumofZnONPsdispersedinethyleneglycolatroomtemperaturerevealed a blue-shiftedonsetofabsorption
