Abstract
This review covers recent developments in surfactant-based extraction methods, with the aim of highlighting some of the most important aspects of micellar systems together with their applications in analysis. It also compares the phase-transfer methodology of different surfactant-based extraction methods (e.g., cloud-point extraction) with coacervative extraction methods using different kinds of surfactant. It includes factors affecting the extraction efficiency of the methods in some recent applications. ª 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
