Abstract
The heterogeneous nano-catalyst Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40, with an average particle size of 22.2 nm and surface area of 49.16m2g1, was prepared under ultrasound irradiation and characterized by IR, SEM, EDX, XRD, BET and TGA. The nano-catalyst (2mol %)was applied to synthesize some b-amino ketone derivatives in good yields at room temperature. These derivatives were characterized by 1H, 13C NMR, IR and UV spectroscopies. Moreover, the structure of 3-(4-bromophenylamino)-1-phenyl-3-p-tolylpropan-1-one was studied by single crystal X-ray determination. The products of undesirable side reactions resulting from 1,2-addition, polymerization and bis-addition were not observed.
