Abstract
Heat transfer enhancement process is considered nowadays. Factors increasing the heat transfer are divided into two categories that are active and passive factors. applied electric field and the use of nanofluid that important factors in increasing the heat transfer are components of active and passive factors, respectively. Thermosyphon due to various factors such as simplicity and infinite life has many applications. In this study the effect of applying electric field and the use of Al2O3/water nanofluid on the thermal efficiency of heat pipes is described. The experimental results represent that the increasing concentration of nanofluid and electric field intensity, enhanced the thermosyphon heat performance significantly.
