Abstract
The fish of the genus Puntius Hamilton 1822 belong to family of cyprinidae the second largest fish family and one of the most well-known freshwater fishes in the world, consisting of about 3,268 species from 321 genera (Nelson and S, 2006) Puntius, commonly known as barb, is one of the important commercial fish for human feed consumption and very popular aquarium fishes in this genus
