Abstract
In the present study cylindrical and spherical ion-acoustic solitons in an unmagnetized three-species plasma 14 system, comprising electron, positive ion and negative ion are investigated. The reductive perturbation technique is 15 employed to derive a cylindrical/spherical Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation from the hydrodynamics equations. The 16 numerical solutions of the modified KdV equation are presented for both geometries. The changes of the amplitude and the 17 width of ion-acoustic solitons due to the effect of the geometry, mass and concentration of negative ions are studied by 18 numerical calculation of the cylindrical/spherical KdV equation.
