Abstract After a state economic period, the government of Iran intended to privatize its economy in 1989. In this article we, first, will discuss about the reasons of this policy. In the second step, Privatization Process And Volume will be surveyed. As the third part of the paper, Performance Of The Government On Privatization will be explained and its success will be evaluated. In this part we will see that this policy was not so successful. The reasons of defeat or at list unsuccessfulness of privatization will be the last part of the paper which will be presented in two saparate gropus i.e Non Economic Group and Economic Group Key Words: Privatization, Economic Reasons, Non economic Reasons, Performance Jel classification: E6 Methodological Features: This paper uses a library method to explain and survey the process of privatization and making its results about this process. Official Iranian statistics are the main material for the part explaining privatization process and articles in Iranian journals are the sources for other parts.

خصوصي سازي واحد هاي اقتصادي دولتي در ايران در سالهاي پس از جنگ به عنوان يكي از سياست هاي اصلي نوين اقتصادي كشور مطرح گرديد. عليرغم تاكيد ظاهري بر اين امر، متاسفانه اين سياست در آن سال ها و سال هاي بعدي به خوبي به اجرا در نيامد بگونه اي كه در سال 1384 تحت عنوان سياست هاي اصل 44 قانون اساسي مجددا از سوي رهبري انقلاب مطرح گرديد. در اين مقاله ابتدا به دلايل انتخاب سياست خصوصي سازي پرداخته و سپس روش هاي اجراي اين سياست مورد بحث قرار مي گيرد. در بخش بعدي نتايج و دستاورد ها توضيح داده شده و نهايتا علل عدم توفيق اين سياست مورد بحث و بررسي قرار مي گيرد.
