Abstract

Experiment was carried out at field of Medicinal Plant Research Center of in Karaj city in 2008. Four levels of net N fertilizer were used including, 0, 50, 100 and 150 kg/ha. Thyme aerial parts were harvested in full blooming time. Results showed that nitrogen fertilizer had significant effect on essential oil of thymus vulgaris so that plant treated with 100 kg nitrogen had the highest essential oil (1.5% v/w). N fertilizer also had significant effect on growth traits
